Food and catering
At Going Places, we believe that children should eat a wholesome and well balanced diet. Our aim is to limit salt, sugar and gluten and to avoid where possible additives, preservatives or colourings. Meal times should be an opportunity to practice eating skills for younger children and an opportunity to practice social skills and manners for older children.
Snacks and drinks
Morning and afternoon snacks will always be fruit with either milk or water. We avoid juice, which will contain high levels of sugar, additives and colours. Drink is available throughout the day.
Breakfast
Cereals such as Weetabix, Ready Break, Rice Crispies or Corn Flakes with toast or sometimes Yoghurt / Fromage Frais are available.
Dinner
This is prepared fresh each day in our own kitchen, frequently using different meals for the different age groups. We aim to include as many vegetables as possible in the main meal of the day. For parent's convenience a current weekly menu is in the reception area.
Tea
We provide a light tea around 4:00p.m. This will probably be sandwiches, but for a change, could be beans / spaghetti on toast or cereals.
